Six Simple Tips to Gorgeous, Healthy Hair
Having gorgeous, silky shiny hair is not as hard as you might think. Here we’ll talk about six things you can do to help improve the look and feel of your lovely locks.
Nothing looks more beautiful than a head of full, sleek, and shiny hair. All women want their hair to fall like liquid silk, and while the "results" seen in hair-care commercials may be a bit too perfect to be real, there are numerous things you can do to improve the health and beauty of the hair you have. Here we’ll talk about six things you can do to keep your hair looking and feeling its best.
1. Wet hair is far weaker than dry hair, so make sure that when you’re trying to detangle it, never use a hairbrush or treat it too roughly. Being overly rough with wet hair can lead to a lot of breakage, so use a good leave in conditioner and comb it out with a wide-tooth comb. This will help to drastically minimize damage done to your hair while it is wet.
2. It should be common sense that a blow dryer can play havoc on your hair. Seriously – put your hand right in front of it and see how long you can keep it there. Your hair experiences a similar feeling. Now, blow-drying your hair is perfect for convenience and time, so instead of telling you to avoid it altogether, try to use the cool setting as much as possible, keep the dryer a good distance away form your head, and don’t dry your hair completely.
3. What out there makes hair look prettier than a lot of shine? Unfortunately, all the products and even our natural environment over time coat our hair and dull its natural appearance. Using an apple cider vinegar rinse is a cheap and easy way to strip all the excess build up off of your hair and keeping it looking shiny. Once a week, mix up a tablespoon or two of apple cider vinegar with about four cups of water, making sure to dilute it well, and pour it over your hair in the shower. The diluted vinegar is very gentle on your hair, and even though it may smell in the shower, no one will ever be able to tell once it’s dry.
4. Ignore all the products out there touting their "quick fixes" to split ends. Once the ends of your hair are split, you can’t repair them or "glue" them back together. Leaving split ends in your hair can result in the split growing up the shaft, severely damaging your hair. Make sure to get a frequent trim to the ends of your hair, even if you’re trying to grow it out.
5. To keep your hair moisturized, put a moisturizing mask on it about once a week. Fortunately, homemade masks usually work great, and can be made with simple things you’re likely to find sitting around your kitchen. They can also be a lot of fun, and are a good family activity or can be done with friends. The recipes can easily be found online – just do a quick search, and pick the one that’s right for you!
6. Another important concept that can make a big difference in the appearance eof your hair is that it’s just as important to take care of it from the inside. The healthier you are, the healthier and more naturally beautiful your hair will be, and there are a few vitamins that can be added to your diet to boost the health and appearance of your hair. Vitamin B6 can actually prevent hair loss, and it also produces melanin, which will help keep your hair color more naturally rich and vibrant. Vitamin A and Vitamin C have strong antioxidants that will go a long way to improve the overall health of your hair, and Vitamin E can help promote circulation of the blood through your scalp, giving your hair a more plentiful source of nutrients.
The key to naturally beautiful hair is making sure it is kept strong and healthy. Every hair color, style, length or type will benefit when you treat it properly. Hair care is something that is easy to promote, and can be achieved by making just a few little changes or additions to the way that you style and take care of your hair. All of those simple little steps will quickly add up over time, and with little effort you’ll have shiny, radiant hair, naturally!

Procedures and Techniques for Restoring Hair Loss
Explaining the different surgical procedures for restoring hair loss.
Hair loss generally takes place because of one or more of the following processes occurring – aging, changes in hormone patterns, genetics or a traumatic occurrence or illness. Throughout the years there have been many alleged treatments available for people suffering from hair loss but here we are aiming to focus solely on surgical procedures which are currently in use.
There are various techniques currently employed for surgical hair loss restoration and it is not uncommon for more than one to be used at a particular time. The main procedures used today are scalp reduction, tissue expansion, flap surgery and hair transplantation.
Scalp reduction is a procedure in which the surgeon will remove segments of the bald scalp of a patient and then loosen the hair bearing scalp surrounding that area, pulling it over the scalp and joining the skin with sutures. This will therefore reduce the size of the bald ‘patch’. This procedure is obviously more suited for people who have bald areas at the top or back of the head rather than on their forehead or at the front of their hairline. Scalp reduction is sometimes performed to reduce the size of the area which is about to undergo hair transplantation.
Tissue expansion surgery has been of great benefit to patients who needed reconstructive surgery – perhaps because of burns, for example. The idea here is to insert a somewhat balloon-like appliance under an area of the head which still has active hair follicles and is adjacent to an area without hair. As this implement gradually inflates over a period of weeks, the skin will expand, producing new cells and resulting in a ‘bulge’ of new hair-covered skin. This skin can then be stretched to cover the nearby bald area.
Scalp flap surgery entails literally moving a segment of the scalp which is hair-bearing and placing it in a different location where hair is needed. So, a bald section of scalp is removed and replaced by a ‘flap’ of scalp with hair. When the flap is transported to the new, recipient part of the scalp, it will be left attached to its nerve and blood supplies until it has properly grafted in its new position. Flap surgery is often performed in conjunction with scalp reduction and tissue expansion, to give a more natural looking hair line.
The best known and most frequent method of surgical hair loss restoration, however, is hair transplantation, a procedure which uses the patient’s own hair to fill in the balding areas. Initially, plugs of skin, each containing about 20 separate hair follicles, would be taken from areas at the sides or back of the head and then transplanted to bald areas. In recent years, though, strip grafts and micro or minigrafts of just a few hair follicles became more common and now it is possible for surgeons to transplant single hair follicles. Because this can be a very precise operation, it is possible to create a very natural looking hairline. It is also popular because, after the transplant process, the donor follicles still maintain their genetic characteristics and will, therefore, continue to grow.
